Art of the Kimberley in conjunction with Kimberley Aviation runs flying art tours to the (KAA) centres. The tours focus on the Aboriginal Art Centres of the Kimberley, particularly those of the Kimberley Aboriginal Artists alliance.
The tours begin in Broome and fly weekly at 7 am on a two day journey, visiting the art centres Mangkaja at Fitzroy Crossing and Warmun at Turkey Creek, over the country that influences the art, the edge of the desert, the majestic Bungle Bungles and Lake Argyle then to Home Valley Station for an overnight stay. The next day, we fly to Kununurra and visit Waringarri and lunch at the award-winning Pump House Restaurant, then have afternoon tea in the outback at Mount Elizabeth Station then fly over Windjana Gorge and the Devonian ranges back to Broome via Mowanjum, near Derby. |
